Birdie on the Mountain is a team effort by an alliance of friends and supporters of live music and local businesses, organized by Project 1:37, to bring the State College area a new opportunity to celebrate the arts and enjoy the company of our fellow community members.
The festival was conceived as a way to honor friends and family members lost in the past two years, and to finally reclaim the missed chances to gather with each other to celebrate their lives.
The event is named for Lisa Sampsell, known to her friends as Birdie, and takes inspiration from her love of music and spirit of service.
To honor her memory, and the memory of so many other dear friends, we work to come together to support the passions they held for both performing arts and for charitable giving.
