Group Lessons

Age: 6 Years through Adult
Skill Level: All Levels

Group Lessons are available on weekends. Available for ages 6 through Adult. (For younger children, see our Paw Prints Lessons). Group lessons last 1.75 hours, walk-ins welcome if space is available. Please check-in at the Ticket Office at least 45 minutes before your lesson, especially if you need to rent equipment. Lessons are available for all levels of ability. Book Online or in-person.

Learn to Ski/Snowboard Package

Age: 6 Years through Adult
Skill Level: Beginner

Available weekends. This program is for first time skier or riders ages 6 and up. This package includes our introductory lesson, Beginner Area pass, and rental equipment. Lessons are about 90 minutes long and classes are limited to 6 students. Please arrive a hour before your lesson and check in at the Ticket Office. Purchase this package in-person at our Ticket Office.

Private Lessons

Age: All Ages
Skill Level: All Levels

Private Lessons are offered in one hour sessions, for up to 4 people. Lessons are available for any skill level, and you can discuss your goals with your Instructor. Lessons are non-transferable and non-refundable (Books of 5 or 10 lessons can be shared). For lesson times outside of what is offered online, contact the Tussey Mountain office and we can match you with an available Instructor.
Book Private Ski Lessons or Private Snowboard Lessons online, or in person at our Ticket Office. Books of 5 or 10 lessons can be purchased in-person only.

Paw Prints Lessons

Age: 3-5 Years Old
Skill Level: Beginner

Paw Prints includes a 1-hour, non-intensive lesson and rentals, designed to encourage positive snow sports attitude for beginners and up. Contact our Ticket Office for information at (814) 466-6266 or [email protected].

Cubs Lesson Package

Age: 3 Years Old
Skill Level: Beginner

Our Cubs Multi-Lesson Package is a series of 1-hour private lessons which can be purchased in either 3-lesson or 6-lesson increments. The lessons are scheduled with the same instructor to insure consistency for your toddler’s first experiences on the snow. The Cubs Lesson Packages includes the lessons, a lift ticket, and rental equipment. The instructor will introduce your toddler to snow-play and the sport of skiing or snowboarding in a safe, non-intensive, fun and individualized way. Reservations must be made a week in advance through the main Ticket Office, and scheduling takes place between the parent and the instructor to ensure that the same instructor is available to teach your child for each lesson. This package currently has a capacity of 10 students. It is a first-come, first-served basis. This is for 3-year-olds only. Women’s Ski Clinic

Age: Any
Skill Level: Varies (see description)

This six week program is taught by women for women! Instruction, practice, and feedback will challenge and encourage women to improve their skills and confidence with the help of experienced PSIA certified instructors. These clinics are for women who have skied before, but the program may be open to first-time skiers, depending on the number enrolled. PSU Kinesiology

The Tussey Mountain Snowsports School works in conjunction with the Kinesiology department at Penn State University Park campus to offer the following courses: KINES 11 (Ski), KINES 11A (Advanced Ski) & KINES 12 (Snowboard). The courses are seven weeks long, meeting once a week, and attendance is required to pass the class. Adventurers Program

Age: 4 Years through 5th Grade
Skill Level: All Levels

FULL FOR 2022 – WAITLIST This program is offered on either Saturdays or Sundays and is intended to improve the skiing or snowboarding skill of kids four years old through 5th grade. This is a non-competitive program for all levels, from first-timers to frequent skiers and riders. The goal is to improve each child’s skills through instruction while having fun and developing a life-long love of the sport. Intermediate and advance levels will not be offered Sunday. Sunday is for beginners to proficient skier/snowboarders. Contact our Ticket Office for information at (814) 466-6266 or [email protected].

Mountaineers Program

Age: 1st through 5th Grade
Skill Level: Experienced (Intermediate-Advanced)

FULL FOR 2022 – WAITLIST This program is offered on Saturday and is intended to improve the skiing or snowboarding skill for children in 1st-5th grade. This is a program for experienced skiers and riders who are comfortable skiing/riding the whole mountain. The goal is to improve each child’s skills through instruction but also learn to love the sport and most importantly have fun! Intramural Program

Age: 4th Grade and above
Skill Level: All Levels

The after school IM program is a community favorite available to children in 4th grade and older (as well as their families). This fun 4 or 6 week program offers skiing or snowboarding to local students at a discounted rate.
For more information contact your school’s Ski Club or the Tussey ticket office. Have your child check with your school to see if there is participation this year. The school’s ski advisor may be able to answer your questions. Otherwise, feel free to read over the info packet containing prices, dates and important facts about the program this year!

The Tussey Mountain Alpine Racing Team (TMART) is one of many outstanding athletic programs in our community. TMART is an organization of young ski racers, parents, and coaches and offers a variety of programs to satisfy diverse levels of racing interests. The mission of the organization is to create and maintain an exceptional skiing and racing program in a fun and challenging environment. Our vision is to provide all racers the highest quality coaching and to prepare them for regional, state, and national competitions with an emphasis on sportsmanship and skill. Last year TMART racers competed in PARA and USSA races at ski hills throughout the State. Many of our racers consistently qualify for the State Derbies and have gone on to competitions in the Northeast including the Junior Olympics.

Development Program (DEVO)

Age: 6-12 Years
Skill Level: Intermediate

The TMART Development Program is designed for skiers who are interested in improving their skiing ability, learning about ski racing, and preparing for a spot on the competitive race team! For skiers ages 6-12 that can ski down Utah (or intermediate terrain) independently. Skiers in the development program train two days a week in small groups with experienced coaches who will focus on individual needs throughout the season.

Competition Team (COMP)

Age: 8-19 Years
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced

The TMART Competition Team is designed for intermediate to expert skiers (ages 8-19) who have a strong technical background or have advanced through the Development Program (not required). Racers have the opportunity to compete in local and regional US Ski and snowboard races. TMART racers train five days a week in small groups with experienced coaches who create a fun and challenging experience.
